Football Insider says Kompany has become a major option for Aston Villa.

The former Manchester City captain left Anderlecht for Burnley ahead of this season. The team is currently in third place in the Championship.

Aston Villa plan to open talks with Kompany in the coming days.

Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim is also on Villa's shortlist.
