Aston Villa insist USA coach Bob Bradley is not a contender for the manager's job.
The Mirror says Villa are searching for a successor for Martin O'Neill, who surprisingly quit on Monday five days before the start of the season.
And Bradley, 52, is considering his future as manager of the USA national team after the World Cup.
But Villa sources insist any developments on Bradley's future are "inconsequential" to their vacancy.
