Aston Villa No2 Terry a candidate for Sheffield Utd job

Aston Villa No2 John Terry is firming as a candidate for the Sheffield United manager's job.

The former Chelsea captain is one of the names to have been linked to the Blades' hotseat following the departure of Chris Wilder last month, says The Examiner.

Terry's name has been in the running for a number of managerial jobs ever since he took up his role as Dean Smith's assistant at Aston Villa in 2018.

He was said to have been among the names considered for the vacant Bournemouth job following the sacking of Jason Tindall – who now works as an assistant to Paul Heckingbottom – before Jonathan Woodgate's appointment.

Terry has also been linked with Scottish giants Celtic, and has now reportedly emerged as a contender for the Bramall Lane job.
