Aston Villa signing Adama Traore played a full 90 minutes as Villa U21 edged Derby U21 with a 1-0 score line in a tightly fought encounter on Monday.
The highly-rated Spanish winger recently arrived at Villa Park in a £7million deal from Barcelona.
The 19-year-old didn't take long to get involved in the game and created a chance for Carles Gil early on.
The game was settled by a solitary goal scored by former U21 player Jack Grealish in the 30th minute. The move leading to the goal involved Traore and Gil.
As the game drew to a close, both teams tried to find the net on several occasions, but the scoreline remained unchanged.
Villa boss Tim Sherwood will now be looking to unveil Traore when the West Midlands club travel to Crystal Palace on the weekend.
