Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey is drawing goalscoring inspiration from manager Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard claims his Birmingham-born midfielder is better than he was at the same age - and predicts the 21-year-old is on the brink of becoming an elite senior England international.

Ramsey is too young to recall his Villa boss at his peak but has been watching his gaffer's glorious 100 goals on TV.

"I've never seen the gaffer play," he told The Sun.

"But whenever Sky Sports show their: ''100 Premier League goals,' or 'The Premier League Years,' programmes, I enjoy watching all his great strikes.

"That's definitely an ambition of mine. I want to see '100 Premier League Goals,' featuring Jacob Ramsey one day!"
