Everton are on the verge of completing the signing of Idrissa Gana Gueye from Aston Villa, according to reports from ESPN.

Gueye was one of the few consistent performers for the terrible Villa side last season and the midfielder's displays have earned him the admiration of Everton this summer.

Now according to reports, Everton have gone on to activate Gueye's £7.2million release clause at Villa Park and the Senegalese international is currently on Merseyside to discuss personal terms as well as undergo a medical with the Toffees.
