Aston Villa midfielder El Ghazi: My heart sank when told Bournemouth result

Aston Villa midfielder Anwar El Ghazi admits victory for Bournemouth against Leicester City was a shock.

The result has plunged Villa back into the relegation battle.

“My heart sank when I saw that result. I got a message, I didn't see the game myself because we were already at the hotel. My father jokingly sent a message saying how incredible football sometimes is," El Ghazi told Sky Sports.

"He sent me that Leicester had lost 4-1 to Bournemouth and I was like, does he mean that?

"It is crazy, football is crazy. It will remain very exciting until the last game.

“We have beaten Crystal Palace and we look forward to the game with Everton, we still have three finals to go.

“To be honest, I always watched because I'm a football freak, but I'm definitely looking at who the other teams we have to face now. However, I understand that the trainer sees it differently, because in the end we only have influence on our own performance. But of course we will look at who West Ham, Watford and Bournemouth should play against."
