Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz happy playing for Emery

Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz admits he's enjoying his football under manager Unai Emery.

Luiz opened the scoring against relegation-threatened Bournemouth, with Jacob Ramsey and Emi Buendia adding two more goals to secure a 3-0 win.

Emery heaped praise on Luiz for his performances after the match. Luiz has now returned the favour to his manager, praising him for the approach to this weekend's game.

“For us, it's so important (to win) because it's in front of the fans," he told VillaTV.

“We did such a good gameplan in the game and the gaffer pushed us because I think, in the last games, we haven't played so good at home. And now we played good, had a good game and won."

Villa now have three wins from their last four, and have put together back-to-back home wins, something Luiz believes is important. “Yes, I think so. Every game we can try and get better on the pitch," he said.

“The goal is so important, for me and my season. I'm so happy, this season I make more assists, more goals. I'm so happy."
