Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard was impressed with Boubacar Kamara's performance against Leeds United in Brisbane on Sunday.
The French midfielder, signed from Marseille this summer, played 45 minutes in the 1-0 victory at Suncorp Stadium.
He told Villa TV: "Two wins from two, two clean sheets, new signings are looking really positive in both games. I thought Bouba was excellent for 45 minutes today.
"We've given opportunities to academy players, that's another positive and the main thing is that we've got 45 minutes into the majority of the squad. I'm pleased and satisfied but there's a lot to work on as well, there's areas of the game that we still need to work on.
"For them, it's fantastic to see all the players up close and personal. It's been a really positive day. We'll pick the areas out that they need to improve and move onto the next game."
