Aston Villa manager Emery: I need 10 hours to analyse games

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has remarkably claimed he takes up to 10 hours to analyse every game.

The Spaniard has been known for his attention to detail and tactical planning.

Now the ex-Arsenal boss has revealed the extent to which he assesses games to discover where his side went wrong.

He appeared on the BT Sport podcast and said: “Maybe the match is one hour and 30 [minutes] and I need five time more to analyse good our team. Maybe 10 hours, 10, eight hours.

“Then I have my coaches analyzing the other side and they are giving me their statistics, their qualities, their skills. And I analyze as well, taking my time, Ideally, maybe two days - five, six or eight hours. And then I try to use everything with the players.

“But I am very demanding first in analysis in our matches. Then try to give the players [the analysis] reducing of course the information but trying to be clinical in the right way tactically to play."
