Heaton is happy at Villa, where he has more chances to play regularly.
He left Burnley last summer after spending six years at the club, and he admits that a return as a coach appeals to him, but only when he is done playing.
The 33-year-old said about a future coaching role with the Clarets on Match of the Day 2: "That would certainly be a possibility for me, I hope I have a good few years left playing yet but once that comes around I will be open minded to anything but that (coaching at Burnley) is certainly up there on my list.
He went on to say the following about playing for the club: "I had a fantastic time there and it had been a brilliant six years.
"I think I was ready for a fresh opportunity, I was also acutely aware that it had been so good that there is probably a right time to leave."
