Aston Villa keeper Guzan turns attention to summer with USA

Brad Guzan is looking forward to playing a key role for the USA national team this summer.

The 30-year old goalkeeper missed Aston Villa's last five matches of the recently-completed season, including Saturday's defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup final, but is now putting that behind him to focus his attention on upcoming friendlies with Holland and Germany ahead of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

"It's a long season for the European players," Guzan told MLSsoccer.com. "It's basically the whole year.

"Now, it's busy summer for us. We've got these two games to hopefully prepare us to go into the Gold Cup. Obviously, the priority for us is to win the Gold Cup."

Jurgen Klinsman's US side meets the Dutch team in Amsterdam on Friday before taking on World Champions Germany in Cologne on June 10.
