Aston Villa are interested in taking Everton full-back Luke Garbutt on a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year old defender signed a new five-year deal this week to commit his future to the Toffees.

But he is likely to spend next season out on loan at another Premier League side and Villa have emerged as favourites.

Garbutt said on signing a new contract: "Under the manager, the future looks bright and positive and I want to be a part of that."

Villa boss Tim Sherwood continues to rebuild his squad ahead of the 2015/16 season and is reportedly looking to add Garbutt to his defensive stocks.
