Aston Villa want to keep released Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge in the Premier League next season.
The Sun says Villa hope to come up with a package to tempt him after his release from Liverpool.
The former Chelsea star had fallen down the pecking order at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp.
Local boy Sturridge, 29, spent several years with Villa as a youth player so there would be a romantic tug for him.
There is also foreign interest in a player who netted 67 goals in 160 games for Liverpool.
Yet the chance to be Villa's main man, and show he can still score in the Prem, has growing appeal.
