Aston Villa are eyeing Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The Daily Mail says Hart is among the goalkeepers being considered by Aston Villa boss Dean Smith, who urged the club on Friday to sign players with Premier League experience this month.

Smith was due to meet chief executive Christian Purslow and sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch on Friday with the Villa manager keen to accelerate moves for players following knee injuries to first-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton and centre forward Wesley that have ruled both out for the rest of the season.

Villa would not confirm the exact nature of the injuries but it is thought Heaton has damaged a cruciate ligament and Wesley's injury is similar.
