Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has slammed what he believes is a 'nonsense' offside rule after his side lost to Manchester City on Wednesday.
The England stopper was dispossessed by Rodri, who had travelled from an offside position, with the Spaniard then setting up Bernardo Silva for City's 79th minute opener.
The Premier League have since confirmed referee Jon Moss made the right decision to award the goal because Mings' took control of the ball, which meant Rodri could not be ruled offside.
"Never even heard of that rule," Mings tweeted. "Just let players stand offside, then run back & tackle you? In hindsight I should've cleared it, 100%, but didn't even know that was the case. Nonsense."
