Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa admits their thrashing of Liverpool will live long in the memory.

Konsa has been reflecting on his side's 7-2 thrashing of Premier League champions Liverpool earlier in the season.

The centre-back reckons the Reds cannot point to any mitigating circumstances when it came to the shock defeat.

He told UMM YouTube channel: “It was crazy.

“There was a point when it was like 6-1 or 6-2 and we are celebrating and I was asking the lads 'is this happening? Or am I dreaming?

“It wasn't making sense. They had Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez. They had their whole squad playing. No excuses. Strong team.

“So, for me, that will always stick in my head."
