Aston Villa defender Calum Chambers is hopeful he will be fit enough to face former club Arsenal this weekend, reports the Daily Mail.

The Englishman joined Villa from Arsenal on a free transfer in January.

Chambers was involved in a tussle with West Ham United's Craig Dawson and suffered a facial injury.

Despite needing stitches in his feet, Chambers hopes to recover in time before Saturday's clash at Villa Park.

Villa boss Steven Gerrard is also stressing on the fitness of Lucas Digne and Douglas Luiz.
