Aston Villa chief exec Christian Purslow admits there's doubts about whether the Premier League will resume.

The 56-year-old was one of the figures at a meeting held in London yesterday where the Premier League voted to suspend the current campaign until April 4 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Purslow was asked questions by members of the media as he left the meeting held in Paddington. When asked if he believes the season will resume, the chief executive is quoted by the Express & Star: “None of us know, we'll see."

He added: “We have no idea, let's hope so."

Questioned whether he believes the Premier League and Football League have made the right decision calling off games, he said: “I think we have got great league management and they have made the right decision."
