Aston Villa are chasing a deal for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.

The Portugal international has been superb in his first season in England after last summer's arrival from Sporting CP.

Palhinha is attracting major interest, with Villa now jumping into the battle.

Football Insider says Villa would be willing to make the midfielder their record signing.

The Villans hope to convince Fulham to sell with a bid of £60m.
