Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu is attracting loan interest for the new season.

The Mirror says Aston Villa want Ampadu on loan next season.

The Wales international is at Chelsea, but Dean Smith believes he can offer him more first-team football at the base of Villa's midfield.

Smith believes Ampadu would be ideal alongside John McGinn and Jack Grealish.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri blocked Ampadu from a loan departure in January and any decision will be left to the Italian's successor.
