Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard is reluctant to lose Tyrone Mings this summer.
The England defender is a target for Newcastle United.
Mings has been mooted as a £35million target for the Toon, says the Mirror, although Villa are not expected to sell their skipper.
He has so far played in all but one of Steven Gerrard's first 27 Premier League games in charge of the club, having missed the defeat to Brentford through suspension.
Mings is an important member of Gerrard's squad and the Villa manager wants to add more leaders to his ranks without losing vital experience in outgoings.
