Aston Villa boss Gerrard: Really pleasing how JJ took charge

Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey admits he was floating after scoring in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Manchester United.

Villa struck twice in the final minutes to cancel out United's 2-0 lead.

Ramsey said: "I think I've scored three goals in the Prem, and both of them were away. I said to myself the next one had to be at home. I had the one disallowed against Leicester but I'm happy to get my first Villa Park goal."

On scoring in front of the Holte End, he added: "Holte End singing your name: coming through the academy, that is what dreams are made of."

Villa boss Steven Gerrard said of the youngster: "The substitutions really brought something to the game, but second half, I thought JJ was outstanding. He really showed why a lot of people are talking about him right now. At 2-0 down, a young kid, a homegrown lad to go and take the game by the scruff of the neck was really pleasing."
