Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard is delighted with the form of John McGinn.

Villa go to Liverpool tomorrow with McGinn outstanding this season.

“John has been outstanding in every way, both on and off the pitch," said Gerrard.

“I wanted to work with John McGinn for a long time and we see a big role for him to try and help us push Villa forward to be as successful as we can be."

On his return to Liverpool, Gerrard added: "I certainly won't make it about me.

"If other people do I can't control that. It's about us going there full of confidence and belief that we can go and take something from the game."
