Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has admitted that a defeat against Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup third round replay would be deeply damaging for the club.

Villa players were heavily criticised by the fans after they played out a 1-1 draw against the League Two side in the original encounter at Adams Park recently.

They will now host the minnows in the replay at Villa Park on Tuesday night and Garde is intent on coming away with a win.

Garde said: "Of course it would be damaging to go out of the Cup to Wycombe.

"Whichever players I pick for the game [tonight] will show that they are professionals. I will rely on their professionalism and the pride in wearing the Villa shirt.

"Wycombe will have nothing to lose, whereas we will have everything to lose."
