Aston Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo is still hopeful of luring Watford goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon to Villa Park, according to reports from the Daily Mirror.
Di Matteo is currently in the market to sign a new goalkeeper this summer and the Italian has identified Hornets gloveman Pantilimon as one of his priority targets.
Now in a development to the story, revelations can be made that Di Matteo is currently convincing Pantilimon to swap Watford for a chance at regular first team football at Villa and a transfer could well come into fruition.
Pantilimon played second fiddle to Heurelho Gomes at Vicarage Road last season, and although he is keen to remain in the Premier League, he also wants regular minutes after struggling for game time in England with Manchester City and Sunderland.
