Aston Villa are eyeing Borussia Monchengladbach winger Marcus Thuram.
The Birmingham Mail says Villa face a “tussle" with Bayern Munich to sign Thuram.
The forward is currently away at the World Cup in Qatar after a late call-up from Didier Deschamps. Thuram has enjoyed a superb start to the season, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists in 17 games for Gladbach.
The 25-year-old looks set to leave the German club in the near future as his contract is due to expire at the end of the season, with Gladbach said to have slapped a €10m price tag on Thuram ahead of the January transfer window.
Villa are stated to be “in the picture" but Bayern Munich are claimed to have got a head start in the battle to sign him.
