Aston Villa attacker Conor Hourihane: That's my goal!

Conor Hourihane is insisting his goal stands for Aston Villa's Carabao Cup rout of Liverpool last night.

The striker bagged a brace in the 5-0 win, but there was a question mark over the scorer of the opening goal of the evening.

Hourihane's free kick found the net - but did Kodjia get the faintest of touches on its way in?

Asked about it on Sky Sports, the Republic of Ireland international was keen to set the record straight - while denying his team-mate the match ball.

Hourihane said: "I can't believe you're even asking me! (It was) mine of course!

"Without a doubt. He (Kodjia) actually said he didn't (get a touch), to be fair.

"So, all good. My goal.

"That was important, to get it as early as we could, and then we were ruthless after that, to be fair."
