Aston Villa are reportedly leading the chase for Charlton Athletic midfielder Jordan Cousins.

According to the Daily Mail, Villa are ahead of the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle United for the 21-year old due to the presence of Mark Robson at Villa Park.

Tim Sherwood's assistant spent six years with the Addicks and is hoping to lure Cousins to the West Midlands from the Championship.

However, the Villans have to battle it out with the Reds and Magpies who are keen while Arsenal have also been credited with an interest.

Cousins is under contract with Charlton until next summer but the London club are desperate to keep the youth academy product at The Valley for the foreseeable future.
