Aston Villa have reached pro terms with Rory Wilson.

The 17-year-old joined the club after he left Rangers in the summer, with several clubs in England keen to take him into their academies.

Wilson scored 49 goals for Rangers last season, before he departed Ibrox in a move worth around £350,000. Wilson is a natural striker and will score plenty of goals for the club's youth teams before he makes his senior bow in the years to come.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted: "Aston Villa have reached an agreement for talented striker Rory Wilson to sign his first professional deal, considered one of the most interesting Academy talents for the future. #AVFCDeal will be completed soon, Wilson scored 17 goals this year — joined AVFC from Rangers."
