Asier Garitano is taking charge of Alaves for next season.

Garitano will succeed Abelardo Fernandez on the bench, and all that's missing is the official announcement of his appointment, reports Marca.

The club have a very specifically defined profile of coach they want to arrive for next season.

Garitano has been out of a job since he was sacked as Real Sociedad boss in December 2018.

The Basque coach took over at La Real after a successful five-year spell with Leganes.
