Ashley Young has no regrets quitting Man Utd for Inter Milan

Former Manchester United captain Ashley Young has no regrets over his move to Inter Milan.

The 34 year-old wing-back quit United in January to join Inter on a short-term deal - which has since been extended to the end of next season.

The England international had almost nine years with United, but admits the chance to move to Italy was too good to refuse. United were reluctant to lose Young, so forcing Inter to cough up a fee of €1.35m to land him during the winter transfer window.

Young, who has managed ten games and two goals for his new club, told Sky Italia via fotbolltransfers.com, "Coming to Inter was a real opportunity and as soon as I heard about it, I immediately asked: 'Of course, where do I sign?'

"Serie A is more tactical than the Premier League and is a fantastic league that I have followed for many years.

"We are a good team with fantastic players and I am convinced that we can win both the league and the Europa League, or at least one of them. We hope to end the season with a title. Next year is the future. We want to win now."

Inter suffered a setback to their Scudetto hopes on Sunday with a poor 2-1 defeat to Bologna. Leading and with Bologna down to ten men, Inter allowed their opponents to fight-back and earn the three points. Young started the game and eventually made way for Cristian Biraghi on 85 minutes.
