Ashley committed to selling Newcastle - for the right price

Mike Ashley is committed to selling Newcastle United - if someone meets his asking price.

A Middle-East consortium lead by British businesswoman Amanda Staveley has reportedly re-ignited their interest in purchasing the Magpies.

The Daily Mailclaims Ashley is 'done' with the club and wants to sell.

The billionaire is concerned about the future of his Sports Direct empire due to the coronavirus pandemic's effect on the retail industry, accelerating his desire to cash in on Newcastle.

Reports have claimed a price of £340m put on the table in January, although Staveley might try to drive that down with football currently suspended.

The Premier League is not taking any takeover news seriously until the two parties officially agree on a deal.
