Marco Asensio was happy to prove Real Madrid's matchwinner against Getafe.

Asensio struck the only goal of the game.

He later said, “I'm trying to grab the opportunities that the coach gives me. I'm pleased about equalling my goal tally and with the win."

"It was a tough match against tough opposition, especially defensively. It was hard to break the deadlock, but we improved a lot when we scored and we managed to get the win, which helps us going into Wednesday's match.

“We knew it was going to be difficult because there was very limited space between the lines and that's where Hazard and I were trying to get the ball. We had to look for the third man quickly and play with precision. We struggled in the first half. We came out better in the second half, we played the ball around quickly, we managed to drag Getafe out of position and the spaces appeared. We were very good in the last 35 minutes."
