Arteta taking responsibility of convincing Aubameyang about Arsenal future

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will try and convince Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stay at the club.

The Gunners have not yet offered the Gabon international a new contract, according to a report from ESPN.

Aubameyang will be a free agent next summer and the North London club do not want to let him walk for free.

According to The Telegraph, Arteta is taking it on himself to speak with Aubameyang about a contract renewal.

The Spaniard wants to communicate directly to Aubameyang about his plans to build a young team around him.

If an extension isn't reached, the club could be forced to sell Aubameyang this summer.

Barcelona, PSG and Real Madrid have been linked with the 30-year-old.
