Arteta pleased with senior players as Arsenal eliminate Leicester

Arsenal have booked a potential fourth-round clash with Liverpool after victory over Leicester City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

The Gunners went ahead early in the second half when Nicolas Pepe's angled effort deflected off Christian Fuchs for an own goal.

Hector Bellerin then set up Eddie Nketiah to seal in the final minute with a simple close-range finish.

Mikel Arteta's side continue their unbeaten run for the season and will face Liverpool in the next round if the Reds can beat Lincoln City on Thursday.

In his post-match press conference, Arteta was pleased with how his senior played led the side.

"I'm really happy with the performance, especially the attitude," he said. "The senior players really took the lead."
