Arsenal skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed a glaring chance against Olympiakos to send the Gunners into the last 16 of the Europa League but boss Mikel Arteta feels his top scorer has responded well.
He said: "He was down and felt responsible about what happened. We need him happy and smiling and that's what he's been these few days."
The 30 year old has been linked with a move away from the Gunners in the summer but Arteta hopes he will sign a new contract.
"We will have to do that before the end of the season," he added. "I want to keep him in any circumstances."
