The Daily Star is reporting that Mikel Arteta could SNUB Arsenal after having a chat with Patrick Vieira.

While Arteta is still seen as the favorite to take over by the majority of the press, the report suggests there is some doubt in the deal's completion.

Vieira and Arteta spoke about the limited role of the "manager" in the Arsenal structure next season. It appears the manager will have minimal impact in who stays or goes among the playing squad.

Even though Arteta has no managerial experience, he does not want to give up that much control in a job where his reputation is on the line.

The lack of control over transfers is part of the reason why Massimiliano Allegri chose to stay at Juventus for another season instead of seeking the Arsenal job.
