Arteta lauds Arsenal 'dedication and attitude' as Lacazette double sinks Sheffield Utd

Arsenal bounced back from midweek heartbreak to claim a 3-0 win over Sheffield United.

The Gunners copped a stoppage time equaliser in their Europa League quarter-final first leg with Slavia Prague.

It wasn't the same story in Yorkshire after they found themselves ahead when Alexandre Lacazette connected on a neat touch from Gabriel Martinelli before stroking the ball past Aaron Ramsdale.

Martinelli got in on the act when a save from Ramsdale allowed him to tap home from close range.

A defence splitting through ball from Thomas Partey then allowed Lacazette to score his second and put Arsenal ahead by three goals.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta was delighted his team's response when speaking after the game.

"We had a really strong performance," he said. "A clean sheet which was needed after a long run without it.

"We were very efficient, intelligent and composed with the ball, which I am very pleased with. We showed dedication, understanding and it was the right attitude so overall, I'm very happy."
