Mikel Arteta wants to close his career with Everton.

Arteta, 27, has not played since rupturing a cruciate ligament in February and a recent setback means he is unlikely to do so until the New Year.

He said: "You never know how long you are going to be with a club, but I can see myself ending my career at Everton.

"I've been at other clubs and I'm telling you this is a special one.

"I would really like to win a trophy here - and we have the potential to do it."
