Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has told management he doesn't want William Saliba sold.
The defender is wanted by Olympique Marseille, where he spent last season on-loan.
Marseille have been boosted by the French football's strict financial watchdog, DNCG, removing previous restrictions on spending with the club keen to make a first summer signing.
But Arteta is unwilling to sell the defender and is keen to first get a look at Saliba on Arsenal's pre-season tour of America, says the Daily Mail.
Saliba has also stated he is prepared to work for a place at Arsenal next season.
However, the defender also is eager to stay in France's World Cup thoughts.
