Arsenal youngster Lansbury fancies Watford stay

Arsenal teenager Henri Lansbury wants to extend his loan deal with Championship Watford until the end of the season. Lansbury has impressed during the first half of the campaign for Watford, but is due to return to the Emirates Stadium at the end of the month.

"I'm hoping to stay here," Lansbury told Arsenal's official website. "I'm enjoying the football down here. Watford are a strong side and they can play good football.

"I'm hoping to sort something out, I'm going to speak to Arsene Wenger about it."

He added: "I came here to show what I can do and I've spoken to the manager here and he wants me to stay.

"I've just got to sort it out with Arsenal and then come here for the rest of the season and keep playing well.

"It's been a big step for me to come and play in the Championship and come here and settle down with the boys.

"I love playing here and it shows on the pitch. It's good to get out and play in front of a crowd."
