Arsenal are wrapping up the signing of Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira.

The Daily Mail says Unai Emery's overhaul of Arsenal will continue next week when the club finalise negotiations on the £25million transfer of Uruguay midfielder Torreira.

The fee with Sampdoria is close to being agreed and the deal is expected to be announced once Uruguay finish their World Cup campaign.

Torreira played the whole game as Uruguay beat Portugal 2-1 on Saturday to reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

It comes as Arsenal prepare to announce the £17m signing of Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund. The Greek centre half has completed his medical at the club.
