However, the Gunners were short on transfer funds, and prioritised a move for Thomas Partey instead.

According to RMC, Paris Saint-Germain have a serious interest in Aouar.

He is flattered with the links, and the Lyon man would be playing at a higher level domestically and in the Champions League if he went there.

Arsenal may have to move quickly, even in the January transfer window, if they wish to sign Aouar.

Juventus and Manchester City are also credited with an interest in the 22-year-old.
