Arsenal whizkid Nelson nears Hoffenheim loan

Arsenal are expected to allow Reiss Nelson to join Hoffenheim on loan.

Goal claims Nelson will complete the season-long loan move after he has signed a new contract with the Gunners. His current deal expires at the end of the season.

The 18-year-old is arguably the highest-rated youngster at the club. But with Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck ahead of him in the pecking order, Nelson will seek first-team opportunities in Germany.

A move to the Bundesliga has worked well for young English talent in recent times.

Ademola Lookman was a consistent performer for RB Leipzig after joining from Everton on loan. Former Manchester City whizkid Jadon Sancho was also given an opportunity in the first-team at Borussia Dortmund.

Nelson made 16 first-team appearances for Arsenal after making his debut against Crystal Palace in January.
