Arsenal whiz Nketiah: Henry, Wright big personal influence

Eddie Nketiah has revealed how Arsenal legends Thierry Henry and Ian Wright have helped him follow in their footsteps.

The exciting 20-year-old forward has scored three goals in Arsenal's last two preseason friendlies, including a brace against Fiorentina on Saturday.

And the Englishman says he has taken tips from two Gunners icons.

He said: “There's a lot of great strikers who have played for Arsenal and what comes to mind is Ian Wright and Thierry. They are probably two of my favourites.

“I was with Ian Wright not too long ago and got some advice and it's always nice to speak to those guys who have been your idols.

“I worked with Thierry as well and it's great to get that advice off top strikers and we've also got two top strikers here at the club at the moment.

“I try to learn as much and take what I can and use it in my own game, Thierry was great for me, not just on the pitch but off the field as well. He is a nice guy, very approachable.

“Him being one of my idols [working with him] was a dream come true. The two guys here are very good too.

"I feel we have a good relationship and Laca gave me a nice assist on my second goal [against Fiorentina] so I am grateful.

“I am always happy to get their advice and learn from them and take it into the pitch when I can."
