Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy is a top target for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Wenger is on the lookout for a new midfielder with West Ham's Mohamed Diame, who is also being chased by Tottenham and QPR, and Wigan's McCarthy both high on his list.

McCarthy is also being watched by Chelsea, though is likely to remain at the DW until the end of the season - at the very least.
