Arsenal veteran Koscielny 'soft' for complaining about Deschamps - Allardyce

Former England boss Sam Allardyce has labelled Laurent Koscielny as "soft" following the Arsenal defender's criticism of Didier Deschamps.

Upon announcing his retirement from international football, Koscielny slated the France boss for his lack of contact after missing out on a place in his World Cup squad.

But Allardyce believes Koscielny was wrong to expect constant communication from Deschamps.

"Get over yourself," Allardyce told talkSPORT.

"Deschamps has got so much going on, to ring up a player, to ring up and see how they are all the time. I just don't get it. It's not one phone call.

"That's one phone call to everybody who you don't put in the squad. That's one phone call to everyone who's injured. You spend all the time on your phone… it's soft."
