Arsenal utility Maitland-Niles has put Everton transfer saga behind him

Arsenal utility Ainsley Maitland-Niles is looking forward to the coming months at the club.

Maitland-Niles was involved in an unsavoury disagreement with manager Mikel Arteta over his future during the summer transfer window.

He was desperate to force a move to Everton on loan, even taking to Instagram to express his desire to be sent to a club where he would play.

The 24-year-old started for Arsenal against Watford in the Premier League in a 1-0 win at the weekend.

"That's all in the past now," said Maitland-Niles.

"I am just thinking about the future and what's ahead of me. It was great to be out there today, getting my minutes, and hopefully there is more to come.

"Yeah [I'm] always happy to be on the pitch and play, it's a good feeling. Of course I'm looking for more minutes, I just need to keep my head down and keep going and working hard."
