Arsenal hope to use Francis Coquelin to help smooth a deal for Lorient defender Laurent Koscielny.
The Daily Mail says Arsenal are preparing to let young midfielder Coquelin join Lorient on a season-long loan to help improve their chances of landing the French side's defender Koscielny.
Arsenal are being encouraged to follow up on their £4.2m offer.
The French club are demanding closer to £7m, however, and Arsenal will make another offer this week.
